Problems with pests

We have a water feature at home, right at the yard outside our kitchen. When we first installed it, I told myself, "Ok Garry, you're gonna wash it every month so that it's clean and nice!".

Month#1: Enthusiastically washed it

Month#2: Tired to do it

Month#3: Lazy to do it

Month#4: Not at home to do it

Month#5: Tournament, so can't do it

Month#6: Business trip overseas, so can't do it

Believe, the list of excuse goes on. But that was last year, and now I help my parents out instead of doing it alone, which is way too time consuming. 4 months back, we noticed that there were a lot of tadpoles and it was undesirable to have them in it. Imagine the number of frogs that would be jumping in and out! So we drained the water using a hose and pressure to suck the tadpoles out. Unfortunately, the following month was still the same problem, so we cleaned the water feature with extra effort and this time we poured all the water out. I tell you, those silly frogs are really good jumpers! They cling on to anything at all, from the grills of the window, to the grills of the gate, even onto plants. You'd wonder how'd they get there in the first place. It's probably a good position for them to feed on insects. It's funny, because in the morning when I open the door, I find myself face-to-face with Mr Frog Face right here:

Alright, we were happy to find that no more tadpoles were bred in the pool, so we proceeded to clean it, thinking that it would be over sooner with less work of emptying the pool. To our horror, we find dozens of baby snails all over!!! What's worse, these kind of snails have no or very small shells, different from the typical snails you see on the road in the gardens. So once again we emptied the pool and there was more work as yet again. One day, these animals will defeat us, I tell you. I even had a snail sticking to my shoe which I left outside to wash!

Silly snails and frogs, I tell you!
